The Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function for both groups and individual business/leisure travelers. They have demonstrated through performance a thorough understanding and competence in sales and account management functions, as well as the hotel industry.

Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, conducting site inspections, and soliciting and generating group business. Additional responsibilities include selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel channels and wholesale organizations.

The Sales Manager will prepare and present effective proposals, manage current accounts, ensure proper solicitation of all target markets, maintain well organized documentation and reports, utilize Hyatt systems and coordinate customer service requirements as appropriate. Travel to major cities within market may be required.

The Sales Manager participates and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The Sales Manager works as a team member with the sales and catering staff and in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

Qualifications

* A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
* Refined verbal and written communication skills
* A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
* Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
* Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
* Prefer PPS, PSS, & Power Writing or equivalent training
* Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
