Reporting Analyst is responsible developing new financial reports in Oracle 11.5.10.2 and Hyperion 9.3.3 as well as maintaining our existing reporting repositories for Global Hyatt Corporate and Hotel Users. This role will evaluate and define reporting requirements for Business functions during upgrade to Hyperion 11 and Oracle R12. Candidates must understand the functional capabilities of the Oracle G/L and translate the business requirements into functional requirements, quickly grasp new concepts and methods while working with a cross-functional team towards a common objective. In addition, they must lead effective meetings, including stakeholder design and review sessions. Previous reporting analysis in Oracle is required, Hyperion (preferable) and OBIEE or BI Publisher experience are a plus for this position.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions: ·Meet with the business users to understand Oracle ERP and EPM reporting needs, gather requirements, provide recommendations for solutions and set a timeline for execution ·Manage user expectations and communicate status or progress of requests ·Work with Oracle Business Analysts or Hyperion Administrators to understand system capabilities and create functional specifications ·Write test plans for assigned reports and complete unit testing of reports to ensure complete data accuracy prior to implementing them into a production environment ·Migration of changes between non-production and production environments ·Identify gaps or areas of opportunity and make recommendations for improvement ·Prepare functional and technical documentation as needed ·Work with the various teams across finance function including Shared Services, Hotel Business Units, Corporate Accounting, Consolidations and External Reporting, FP&A, Audit Services, Tax, Treasury and Financial Systems Management ·Conduct periodic inventory of reports repositories and evaluate content and design with management and application owners, keep repository clean and up-to-date ·Research report problems and defects as identified by QA, Business Units, etc.; identify and implement appropriate solutions ·Able to understand the global requirements of financial reporting and compare it to both standard Oracle functionality as well as custom enhancements in EBS and OBIEE ·Develop best practices and standards for OBIEE development ·Participate in system design or process improvement projects as needed ·Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values ·The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Qualifications
·3-5 years of experience in the finance industry and project management experience is required. Must have experience with data analysis and reporting. ·Must be able to meet established deadlines in a dynamic working environment with minimal supervision ·Experience developing Business Intelligence solutions using Oracle is required ·aHyperion 11.1.2 Planning and Interactive Reporting; Hyperion Dash boarding, Workspace and Smart view are preferred. ·Experience developing Business Intelligence solutions using Oracle OBIEE , OBIEE+, BI Publisher is a plus ·Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required ·MBA or Graduate degree is preferred ·Certification in one or more of Hyperion EPM or Oracle ERP tools is preferred ·Intermediate-Advanced skills in Hyperion Financial Reports, Intermediate-Advanced skills using Microsoft Word & Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, ·Computer skills using Microsoft Projects, Oracle ERP modules, Hyperion EPM tools, Smartview and Essbase Addins is preferred. ·Knowledge or development of data warehouses and leveraging tools to query the data such as OBIEE, Cognos etc. is beneficial ·Experience with SOA and BPEL beneficial ·Strong technical knowledge of Oracle admin/metadata tools, security, user interface design, development and deployment of dashboards, analytics and performance management reports ·Experience implementing or upgrading Oracle or EPM is preferred ·Experience building complex reports, dashboards, and scorecards is helpful ·Experience working as a liaison between the business and the technical teams towards a common goal is beneficial ·Demonstrated organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills. ·Strong cross-functional relationship building skills and collaboration with internal Finance, Operations and IT department ·Positive "team player" attitude, strong analytical and excellent interpersonal skills ·Self-motivated, independent and flexible
