We are seeking an attorney for the position of Corporate Counsel- IT Operations based in our Chicago office. This position works with senior level management on IT issues that are critical to the organization and supports other client groups within the organization at the corporate and hotel level. This position's day to day responsibilities include providing legal support and advice in the company's Legal Operations group in areas such as information technology, privacy, risk management, and consumer issues.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have had demonstrated experience in the aforementioned and will also possess the following qualifications:
5 years or more of broad legal experience in a law firm or in-house.
JD degree and Active Bar Membership required.
Proven experience with a broad cross-section of technology and telecommunications agreements (including the structuring, negotiation and documentation of enterprise solutions and hardware, software, outsourcing, hosting, and consulting agreements); intellectual property issues (including copyright and patents); and other general legal matters.
A working knowledge of data privacy and data security issues (including state personal information breach notification laws and Payment Card Industry Security Standards.
Experience with commercial law and drafting/reviewing general corporate contracts.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organization, research, interpersonal, analytic and computer skills.
Ability to collaborate with in-house legal colleagues as well as with internal and external clients on a wide range of matters and successful in working in a team setting.
Ability to collaborate with, direct, and manage outside counsel.
Ability to manage varied projects simultaneously.
Displays self-direction, time management and reasoned problem solving skills.
Previous hospitality or service industry experience is a plus.
