The Design Director will be responsible to the Director of Architecture & Design for the execution of Technical Services within Latin America while managing a team of Design Managers. The LA Design team will be maintaining product and brand standards as well as the integrity of corporate Hyatt's Design Standards. Full support and cooperation will be exercised with Development, Legal, External Consultants, and Corporate / Divisional Specialist to positively contribute, in the spirit of collaboration, to the growth of the company.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions: ·Work with Hyatt Operations team as well as the Owner's Consultants during the complete design Process with the purpose of safeguarding the Owner's interest and Hyatt Brand Standards ·Work with the Internal HITS Team to service projects and produce the various key documents of HITS ·To prepare and update Preliminary Area Programs for projects ·Evaluate and produce desk top reviews for potential projects including conceptual sketch designs to assess their viability ·Attend Kick-off and other coordination meetings and represent Hyatt International Technical Services ·To produce written documents and sketch/Cad drawings in order to communicate effectively with the Owner's Consultants ·Provide guidance on the implementation of Hyatt International's Design Minimum Standards ·To assist the Owner's design consultants on any initial space planning and conceptual design ·To review the drawings and specifications submitted by the various Design Consultants ·To produce keyed BOH information and coordinate with the Owner's consultants for incorporation into the drawing set ·Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values ·The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Qualifications
·Minimum 8-10 years of post-graduate 5-star hotel project experience in the Architectural field with experience in all phases of the design process ·3-5 years of work experience in Latin America ·Architectural Design Degree -Bachelor's (5 year) or Masters (6 year) or foreign equivalent ·Intern Development program completed ·Architectural License preferred ·AutoCAD 2011 skills are required ·Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) skills are required ·Must be Fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese is a plus ·Data management systems (Aconex) experience a plus ·Must be prepared to travel extensively in the Americas
