The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a highly visible role to assist in overseeing the operations in the Food & Beverage outlets. This position reports to the Restaurant Manager.
The Hyatt Regency Vancouver is a convention hotel with 45,000 square feet of meeting room space, five food and beverage outlets and in-room dining operations. The position demands excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of food & beverage services standards.
This position works well under pressure, is organized, flexible, creative, and self-motivated. This position is a regular full-time position; ability to have a flexible work schedule to meet business demands including weekends and holidays is a must.
Duties include: Ensuring the efficient running of the restaurant, bars and in-room dining program are in line with Hyatt's Corporate Strategies and brand standards Assist in scheduling teams in accordance to the collective agreement Coaching and counseling employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures Follow up on established training steps Provide guidance to food and beverage department managers Regularly ensure guest expectations are met and receive feedback through continuous guest interaction Plan and execute specialty parties Conduct Pre-Shift meetings with associates Hyatt associates work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards. Qualifications
Full Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast paced environment Refined verbal and written communication skills Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of point of sale systems Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized Candidates should possess proven leadership skills Candidates should possess strong food and beverage knowledge. Beverage knowledge should include wine, spirits and beer Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of restaurant service Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or a Restaurant Supervisor preferred Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, and effective in providing exceptional customer service Previous experience with Open Table and Micros an asset Must have Serving it Right Must have Food Safe Must prove legal right to work in Canada
